Round, Square, Rectangle, Tube Cutting with Angle & Channel Add-On Option
The Dragon A400 series will cut holes, notches, and other designs on round, square, and rectangular tubes with ease and accuracy. Round: 1"-6", Square: 1"-4", Rectangle: 1"-4" width x 1"-4" height. Also, A400 has an add-on option to expand cutting for Angle and Channel materials; 1"-4" width x 1"-4" height.

Marking Without the Guess Work
With the help of the Dragon software, the Dragon A400 series is able to engrave and mark precise bending locations & rotation values onto the tubes. These compensate for your material's stretching and allow for flawless line-ups in your bender. It can also draw saddle marks where tubes will intersect for quick and accurate assembling.

Dragon CAD Software
Bring in your 3D CAD designs, or create them from scratch with Bend-Tech Dragon CAD. Dragon CAD is able to import STEP & IGES files which are supported by most CAD software including but not limited to Bend-Tech, SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Inventor, PRO Engineer, etc. Once imported to Dragon CAD, it will trace all your CAD geometry and convert it into a CAM ready file that can be read by the Dragon machine for actual manufacturing.
Dragon CAM/CNC software
Dragon CNC software is an automated CAM/CNC product that understands tubing. This software exclusive to Dragon machines will automatically create your cutting, marking and etching paths directly from Bend-Tech Dragon CAD by converting geometry into machine readable G-Codes. The Dragon CNC software also comes with a nesting ability to allow several parts on the same stock tube.
Plasma Holder & Side Shields
The plasma holder is designed to fit most plasma cutters available on the market. We recommend the Hypertherm PowerMax series. The side shields help block sparks and debris that are emitted from the machine.
The Dragon’s marking system is used for bend location marking and part identification.
Front Position Gate
The roller gates compress upon a center location to provide symmetrical rotation of the tube. The vise-style screw system holds itself into position. No adjustment is needed as you run a stick of raw material.
Center Support Lifter
The lifter’s motor drives it along a vertical axis to support the material and prevent bowing/whipping during operation. An air actuation system positions the roller over the rail and rotates out of the way when necessary.
A & Z Axis Ball Screws
The A & Z axis are driven by ball screws that are enclosed keeping them free from plasma dust and debris.
X Axis Timing Belt
The X axis is driven by a high precision timing belt. It allows for very few moving parts which creates great precision along the machine’s 25 feet of travel.
Y Axis Gearing
The Y axis gearing is designed for precision and power. The Dragon A400 can easily spin a piece of 4”x4”x24' stock without complications.
The proximity sensors that are used throughout the machine are first in their class for precision and accuracy.
To move the Dragon A400, the power supply is exceptional. It uses 24 volts to power its impressive drive motors.
The Dragon’s improved engraver system is second to none. An inline oilier is supplied to keep it functioning efficiently. The engraver is used for part marking and for designs that are to be etched onto the material.
The part catcher is designed to catch 12” to 48” parts. It is engineered for easy adaptation so fabricators can adjust for their part criteria and shop production needs.
The slug shoot is designed to allow small parts and web slugs to slide or roll out of the cutting area as new parts are being cut.
X Axis Bearing System & Rails
The bearing system on the X axis is designed to self clean. An occasional wipe down may be necessary but the “V” groove design of the bearings and the rail will remove most of the debris as the trolley glides down the beam.
There are four emergency stops on the machine. Two on the front of the machine (one on each side of the head), one on the back of the machine and one on the trolley. This ensures the operator’s safety and accessibility if an emergency shutdown is required.
Chuck Key Storage
Few things are worse in production than trying to find the needed tools to get the job done. We have supplied a location on the chuck trolley to easily and safely store the chuck key when it is not in use.
The Dragon A400 modular design allows for easy shipping, straight beam alignment and the ability to expand your machine in the future. The center beams come in 6 foot lengths and are connected together with an extremely stout leg support system.
The laser light allows for material line up when using the pass through chuck capability or when needing to flip the tube end for end to reduce or eliminate the remnant drop between the chuck and the cutting head.
Mini Water Tray
The mini water tray captures about 95% of the sparks. This greatly decreases the fumes experienced during plasma cutting.

Hypertherm® Plasma System
With Bend-Tech Dragon machines, we recommend that you use Hypertherm Powermax 45 or higher with mechanized torch for the best cutting results. Bend-Tech is an official OEM of Hypertherm plasma torches, and they can be purchased through us with the Dragon machine sale.
Coolant Circulation System
Dragon's coolant circulation system is an optional add-on feature that can enhance the cut quality of your tubes & pipes. Coolant circulation system will keep the material cool during plasma cutting, making it ideal for Aluminum and stainless steel. See video for more detail.
Angle & Channel Motorized Gate
A motorized gate on the Dragon A400 cuts anything you need on angle and channel profile material. Various end cuts, such as copes, miters, and more are cut accurately and efficiently through automated CNC plasma cutting. Numerous holes such as square holes, bracket mount holes, large electrical cabling holes, and any other types of holes are cut with ease. The Angle/Channel Motorized Gate add-on still cuts all of the other tube profiles round, square, and rectangle material.
