Case Study: Lippmann
Crushing it Since 1923
About Lippmann
Since 1923 Lippmann has designed and manufactured top-of-the-line crushing, screening, and stacking equipment. The company began as Lippmann Engineering Works, with the cornerstone of the company consistently being heavy-duty jaw crushers. Lippmann was a family-owned business until 2018 when it was sold to McCloskey
International, then purchased by Metso Minerals. After the acquisition, Lippmann has continued production of a premium product with superior service and support.
Dragon A400
Lippmann uses the Dragon A400 10 hours a week to process tube for railings on their industrial Equipment. Prior to the Dragon A400 they used a hemi saw, hand notching square tubing to make the safety rails on their equipment. The automation of plasma cutting end cuts and marking bending information has given the ability to produce better safety railings on their equipment. Now the safety rails are round, include bends, and are produced more accurately at a rate 30 percent faster than before. Lippmann estimates that the Dragon A400 has reduced labor time by 25 percent. The plasma cutting does not just increase efficiency of production but produces “a lot better quality than before.”
In closing, when asked if the Dragon A400 has paid for itself in the year and a half since its purchase, their response was, “by far.”
